Weekend lunch - Katsudon (Japanese Schnitzel bowl)

What do you eat on weekend? I usually prepare something easy and quick for our weekend lunch.
This weekend we had Katsudon according to the strong wish from one of our teenage family member. She wanted to try it because she learned it from one of the Mangas she is reading.
Katsudon is a very popular dish which often is eaten for lunch in Japan. There are different variations dependin on the region. For example, Nagoya is famous for Miso Katsudon, using Miso (fermented soy bean paste) instead of a soy based stock.
Katsudon is also known as the food to eat before big exames at school, wishing a good result for students. "Katsu" literally means " to win" or "victory" .
The result was a huge SUCCESS. Very tasty and the family loved it. Umai!! 😊
